Casinos' Slots Revenue for January Was Frozen by Snowy Weather

It might sound strange but the weather can heavily influence gambling process in US. Somebody will say that it is not really so, but in fact it is. Let`s take Pennsylvania. Snowy and cold weather in January has frozen players` spending almost at all Pennsylvania casinos.

Snowy January has made a great effect on slots games business at The Erie-area and The Presque Isle Downs & Casino that have really suffered from the winter weather. For instance, The Erie-area casino has managed to improve by 0.01% because of the weather. But the business of the casino has begun to pick up since February. The other mentioned casino also hasn`t much to boast about. The matter is that The Presque Isle Downs & Casino`s average revenue for the month wasn`t almost changed.

It should be mentioned that the gross revenue on slot machines in January 2010 throughout the Pennsylvania State have decreased by 3.74 percent which is $6.9 million. This information is proved by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board that regulates Pennsylvania casino industry. In fact, the revenue decline was steeper (9.22 %) in comparison with the revenue for 9 casinos which were opened in January 2010.
